Gearbox Problems - A3 130 sport (2002)

Hi All - first thread written in desparation!!! - my wife has just got back and tells me we no longer have 1st or 2nd gears in the Audi - could this be a selector problem or is it likely to be even more expensive!!

All's well with the other gears and the car is otherwise fine to drive with no loss of fluid.

Any help greatly appreciated.

Hello and welcome to the forum.

There is a plastic selector on the box that can break but you need to get someone who knows the 02M box to inspect it as they can suffer internal selector failure.

Thanks for that - I've checked the top of the box and there seems to be a bolt missing (under the battery or air box housing) - I can see the thread from above which appears quite clean as though the bolt has recently been removed - could this contribute to the problem??
