Hi all,

We did this little beauty recently at an Audi dealership.

It was brand new and received the New Car Detail. (http://www.elitedetailing.co.uk/services.php?type=exterior)

It's the first blue R8 we have worked on and I dont think there are many people who have gone for this colour...

In our opinion it's a beautiful colour and really suits it..

Here is a before picture as it was at the dealership:

Initially the vehicle's bodywork was washed and dried with the following items:

Zaino Z-7 Show Car Wash (http://www.elitedetailer.com/cgi-bin/hcat_catalogue.cgi?fa=display&id=2&crid=&cmrid=1&cmpid)

Ultra Safe Drying Towel (http://www.elitedetailer.com/cgi-bin/hcat_catalogue.cgi?fa=display&id=44&crid=&cmrid=1&cmpid=2)

Lambswool Wash Mitt (http://www.elitedetailer.com/cgi-bin/hcat_catalogue.cgi?fa=display&id=98&crid=&cmrid=1&cmpid=2)

Vehicle clayed with:

Zaino Z-18 Clay System (http://www.elitedetailer.com/cgi-bin/hcat_catalogue.cgi?fa=display&id=8&crid=&cmrid=1&cmpid=2)

Wheels cleaned with:

R222 High Performance Wheel Gel Cleaner (http://www.elitedetailer.com/cgi-bin/hcat_catalogue.cgi?fa=display&id=7&crid=&cmrid=1&cmpid=2)

Meguiars Deep Pile Microfibre Wash Mitt (http://www.elitedetailer.com/cgi-bin/hcat_catalogue.cgi?fa=display&id=77&crid=&cmrid=1&cmpid=2)

Boars Hair Wheel Brush (http://www.elitedetailer.com/cgi-bin/hcat_catalogue.cgi?fa=display&id=100&crid=&cmrid=1&cmpid=2)

Picture taken after about 4 hours of Paint Correction. Yes, unfortunatly even new cars need Paint Correction (http://www.elitedetailing.co.uk/services.php?type=paintwork).

http://i57.photobucket.com/albums/g213/elitedetailer/IMG_1736.jpg

The wheels were sealed with:

Zaino Z2 Pro (http://www.elitedetailer.com/cgi-bin/hcat_catalogue.cgi?fa=display&id=13&crid=&cmrid=1&cmpid=2)

Tyres conditioned with:

Zaino Z-16 Tyre Gloss (http://www.elitedetailer.com/cgi-bin/hcat_catalogue.cgi?fa=display&id=22&crid=&cmrid=1&cmpid=2)

http://i57.photobucket.com/albums/g213/elitedetailer/IMG_1759.jpg

Here are the pictures of the car after paint correction and the full detail.

Hey there ED...first off, what a great job you did on that R8....beautiful vehicle looking a million times better once you'd finished. I have so much respect for you guys n what you do.
I try to look after my A6 ( Stratos blue ) as best i can but it suffers from some minor swirls even being as careful as I can. It is however 2 years old and covered 54k miles as my daily driver. The reason I mention this is in relation to your comments about New cars needing paint correction......
Whilst at the Audi dealership today I noticed a stunning A8 in black for sale with a price tag of £58k..upon closer inspection I noticed that the swirls on the car were nearly as bad as mine:(:(:(
I would dearly love to get my vehicle the kind of treatment you can offer, but at the moment it is cost prohibitive.....one of these days though:Blush:
Keep up the good work

Jim

have a to say what a great job! Secondly that is the first time i have ever seen the car other than the default build/advert colour. Blue really suits that car the best! Though i bet its a bugger when the owner gets swirl marks, chips and scratches!

Out of boredom i was on the audi site, seems everyone has this colour in grey, black. On the pallet chart there are other colours, just didn't know that you could have this in another colour...well without spending £££ for the customized paint.

I think swirl marks on the other hand just have to be accepted with any car... :( Your gonna be forever battling trying not to get swirl marks or chips. I think when the car is severely covered in swirls, buffer. As for chips spray paint whole panel or leave them.

Best way to avoid any defects is to wrap it in bubble wrapping and drive around! :D How I hate chips, just got a new car and have a chip on the front spoiler lip... Only noticeable to me, but damn annoying when you spend hours cleaning it! :(

Hi

If you wash your car the correct way you will minimise the risk of getting risks by a huge amount.

Thanks for the comments guys

Looks absolutly fantastic, and liking that colour alot!

Good effort to the owner for going for a non-standard colour, as above, never seen one that colour.

elitedetailer: Pics are alright, but all a little blurry, you could try a tripod to help keep the shots sharper, your work is amazing, sharper shots would really show it nicely :D
