You need to rewire the plug which, I have read, is an easy enough job though not tried it myself. Might need a resistor patched in too depending on the load. First confirm what each wire does for your particular model of car.
(Perhaps this is obvious but I say it anyway... when working on anything to do with airbags, make sure the battery is disconnected)
Hope this helps!

I've found the Haynes manual reliable for wiring diagrams of the interior and exterior lighting circuits on a my '99 model - from memory it covered several difference models. Also, have you tried looking on audiworld.com? It has some good technical articles under the "Resources" tab...

yikes... I'm surprised this is proving such a difficult thing to track down  I've checked the basic manual I have here in UK but its not got anything for the seats or airbags?!# :aargh4:
Last suggestion I've got then... I stumbled on some workshop manuals a while back called "ELSAWIN 3.5" - just checked and they're on ebay for around GBP5.00 + p&p. The specs. state wiring diagrams are included, and lots of models and years are covered. Sounded a bit adavnced for me at the time so I didn't pursue it but given the cheap price maybe its worth your while?
Good luck with it :beerchug:

join the two wires, the third needs to go to an earth, you only need to use a resistor to delete the airbags if you fit a set of seats without them

Excellent! Well done :biglaugh:
I'm guessing you manged it without setting off any airbags?

join the two wires from the car to the two wires at the seat and earth the third brown wire, why would that set of the airbag?

:approve:1st s4 seats r not the same ohms so it would either set the bag off or just set the light off:beerchug:

no it wont, i use 4.7ohm resistors without any problem (my seats dont have airbags)

deleting airbags when you have them fitted just seems stupid to me
