Turbo Replacement 1.8T Sport

Hi Guys,

I need to replace the Turbo on my 1.8T Sport AEB Engine.

Does anyone know of a good/cheap place to get a matching turbo + manifold?

I also need a new clip for my front bumper (drivers side) any ideas?

where are you based...

You must replace the oil supply line to the turbo also, 66 quid i think, i made the mistake of not changing it and wrecked the new one in 5 miles

I've got my eye out on the internet through various places. Looking for a new one and not reconditioned.

you can check the oil supply pipe by disconnecting the coil packs and turning the engine over with the oil line dissconnected, if it sprays out oil then its fine, you'll probably find its plugged up this is what causes most turbo failures.

I spoke to my mechanic today and he said he checked the oil line and it was ok so thats good.

He is asking £660 to do the job which he says includes the Turbo and fitting kit which includes all the gaskets.

I cant help but think I can get the parts cheaper elsewhere though. Anyone know of anywhere?

I payed 300 for my new turbo, and it took me about 7 hours to change it......I'd want some sort of guareente if he says he`s checked the oil line

is it possible to replace turbo with one from a newer engine. Ive got the 1.8T AEB and have got an offer on a turbo from an AWT 1.8T engine. different part numbers. Will it work?

until i brought an a4 quattro i always thought i knew about these 1.8 20v lumps... what with being on the tool myself, now i seem to come across new engine codes new turbo sizes you people surprise me every day.

question i think my quat is a AJL code??? its in a b5 quattro i wanted to know myself which size turbo it is? im not getting probs but ill be lookin to put big brover in his school place. or just a remap?
