Can you elaborate at all? Does it feel like something is blocking the gate or is it stiff/notchy?

Do you mean that you can select 5th gear once the engine/gearbox is warm, but not when it's cold?

As for what is causing this, I have no idea, unfortunately. Hopefully someone a bit more knowledgeable will come along.... One thing I will say is that if you can't select 5th gear at all when it's cold, it's likely to need more than an oil change. Also, if all other gears are fine, that indicates that the gear oil is doing its job.

hi again,had car serviced ,new gearbox oil,car selected 5th gear for about a week now the problem is back again problems selecting 5th gear grrr!!! any help??doesnt matter whether warm or not its a lottery lol

What about clutch plate, or maybe clutch bearing or spring??

Knacked syncro maybe?
