T4 Transporter 1992 - 1.9D to 2.4TDi ??

Hey folks, does anyone know if its simple enough to swap an old 1.9D for the 2.4TDi of a similar year?

I'm having gearbox issues anyway, so thought I could do it in one go. How bigger job is a gearbox change?

depends which way you do it,i take the engine out and that takes me about 10 hours,some people remove alternator and pulll the engine forward either way its a big box and quite awkward..you carnt put a 2.4 where a 1.9 was the ecu is different and so is some of the wiring best sticking with what you have got ,.....in my opinion..
