Hey guys,

so i look set to be getting my hands on a gt tdi soon!

Really cant wait! I was thinking about leaving the car as standard apart from the wheels.

I saw a golf the other day with what i think are audi rs6 alloys? See picture!

The only thing was, they had vw centre caps on them? Can you shed some light on this guys? And what are the maximum size that can be put on a mk iv, im thinking just using 18's as im sure anything more will hamper the performance??

Thanks in advance

RS6 alloys on a golf will no doubt be replicas- quite a few different sites do them. Try here for starters- http://www.wheel-base.co.uk/ give you an idea.

As for max size etc, I'm not entirely sure. I've got a mkv with 18s- personally I wouldn't want to go any bigger. I've seen a few mkiv golfs with what looked like 19"- looked quite big though.

I opted for 17"s because the ride tends to mess up going over bumps with 19"s as their is very little gap between the alloy and the actual road! The alloys on the pic look wicked. I'd definately opt for them, rather than the RS8 one's that people are now going for.

Maximum recommended would be 18". The wheel badges can easily be bought from eBay or the retailer should give you an option whether you want Audi or VW badges. Just be careful when you go to jet wash the car/alloys, as the badges sometimes do fall off. I've had about 3 fall off since having my Golf over 1yr. Replacement badges come at about £10 for 4 (best to keep spare).
