Im loving the the new spec and subtle new look of the Golf GTI but why are they selling with no options with xenon lighting in the UK?

Surely this should be standard or at least an upgrade?

The Mk 6 has all been about saving cost so I suspect this was a factor in not making them available..................

So why has the price just gone up by £700?

The announcement of a new or updated shape will always attract price increases...........

Vw have put the price of a Mk6 golf up since it went on sale in Jan.

That is nothing to do with a new model or updated shape.

I suspect the GTI version will offer xenon headlights.

I read somewhere, I think Auto Express, that many manufacturers were dropping the Xenon headlamp option in their less expensive models due to the very low pick-up. Initial cost was a factor, so I suppose if you're working on a budget Xenons are more at the luxury end of options.

From my own perspective my last car came with them and was not looking forward to a £350+ replacement cost if one of them went out. A wee worry now gone I'm pleased to say.
