Well I had to get a new tyre for the S3, Slow puncture and the cost £175 for a Bridgestone. I have to say I was pleased after own a few months ago I spent £275 for one tyre (Dunlop) on my old A4 (B8).

Question is why do tyre companies charge so much ?

Apart from the difference between an 18" tyre on the S3 and a 19" on the A4 I can not see why!!

How much?!?!?!

Blackcircles charged me just over £100 for a brand new 235/45/17 Bridgestone Potenza RE050A mail order. Had it fitted and balanced at local tyre shop for £10.

Differant size for a start, it will be more expensive as it is bigger but it isn't that expensive....If people keep buying off the net eventually there won't be anybody to fit your tyres off the internet.

You can not buy from the Net if your at the side of the road!!!

I have not looked up the Bridgestone cost on the net but I did for the Dunlop Sport Maxx GT and £250 was the cheapest

So S3s don't come with a spare tyre? Surely that would have got you away from the side of the road. ;)

I was 200 miles from home, I did think about it but I'm not traveling that far on a 50 mph spare !!
