Hi all,
I have sent loads of e-mails out to towbar suppliers/fitters for quotes to supply & fit a westfalia towbar to my Audi A4, prices range from £283.50 to £505.

My question tho is,,,,,,,Does it really make a difference if I go for the bypass wiring rather than the vehicle specific wiring. I sort of assume that the vehicle specific wiring makes the fitters job easier, more or less simply plugging in. I assume???? that the bypass wiring in avoids the bulbfail monitors wrongly picking up bulbfails?

What do the knowledgeable Forum members consider to be the better option!!

If your car has ecu adaptation for towing e.g stability control, abs etc then this can only be programmed in if you use the correct wiring kit. If you use a bypass relay it does what it says. It bypasses the can-bus system so the car doesn't know a tow bar is fitted. This means that any programmable extras available can't be enabled.
