still sulking after having a few beers tonight to calm down.

Do any of you out there know of a reasonable place in the northwest (uk) that can sort my head out. Number three blew the plug out and there is no thread left:zx11:

You can insert,what is called heli-coil threads,

Or a Würth Time Sert insert, most engineers can do this head on quite reasonably.

cheers crasher, a neighbour who is a mobile mechanic said it looks like somebody had botched the job after cross threading. I serviced the car just after I got it and had a right old problem getting number three out, but the new plug seemed to go in ok and was tight.

Most workshops have the sets,the threads dont.cost much.Depending on the engine (type)it is a fairly straight forward job,30mins at the most.

cheers Kenney, going to check with my bro law as he buys and sells cars and is does them up. A free feed is better than spending loads having the head rebuilt
