Hi Gaz here, newbie and owner of a 2003 Passat 1.9 TDI 130. All my previous cars have either been Ford's or Vauxhall's, so when Mrs Gaz said "Oh I do like the colour of that one!" I was a bit wary (Like most blokes I tend to get stuck in a rut). Took said 'nice coloured car' out for a test drive and became hooked, Lots of buttons to press and toys to play with and how did I manage before heated seats? I cant understand why I had never considered a VW before but I am glad I did. It did need some major work doing to it, that is the stereo had to be replaced and it now has a nice set of after market alloys, but that aside it is a fantastic car to drive, is in great condition and I lurve it.

May possibly never go back to owning a Ford. :biglaugh:

Hi Gaz,

I can think of a few Fords I would have, a GT to start with :D

I also like what I have seen of both the Fiesta and Focus ST's. So long as the car makes me feel good I don't care what badge is on the bonnet. I actually believe that most modern day cars are all very similar with regard to reliability and all built to high standards.

I guess I just like all cars.

All cars equal to all men (and women) :p

Funny you should say that, my dad is not a mechanic, but could be ;) He has messed with cars all his life, though a joiner by trade, in his mid 70's now and has a Rover 214 K reg I think (mum's car actually), A SE 25 Mini and another Mini he bought for £50 about 4/5 years ago and restored. He has built a Locust (Lotus 7 kit) out of marine ply and aluminium plus escort and Hillman Imp bits, owned his own MKIII Tina for about 20 years and kept it like new. Anyway he always disliked anything other than British, so my first car was Tina MKIII my second an Opel Manta then a Sierra... I was well and truly married then and my next car was a Mazda, I now have a big respect for Japanese cars, my dad has come around but still loves BMC/Ford Vauxhall Rover, traditionally British or built here.
