Hi, anybody out there help me with this one, I have a 2002 A3 1.8T with 75Kon the clock, and she is giving me problems, first both cooling fans are on all the time (at my wits end with this one:zx11:) but now she has also developed an intermittent flat spot, very rare but approx. twice a day without warning power just plummets; I have to drop it a gear and she picks up and carries on, I had the ECU diagnostic carried out and it came out with ‘Connection from Turbo charger to throttle valve pressure drop’ code P1297 – what does this mean? Is the turbo faulty?

Any help greatly appreciated!:biglaugh:

Remove, clean and re-adapt the throttle body and that should clear that fault.

Many thanks Crasher, this is now my first job over the weekend; I am not that familiar with the A3 you suggest readapt the throttle body, does this mean setting it back up using the diagnostic equipment once it has been cleaned?

Cheers

Yes, you would need a registered copy of VAG-COM or another diagnostic system.
