Just taken ownership of a new passat in deep black (pearl)

Having washed it for the 1st time today ive realised i need some new products!

What would your advice be? I'm happy with my wash (AG) but need a new polish and wax (i think??)

Ive been looking at Poorboy's Polish with Carnauba Blue, seems to have good reviews.

Also PoorBoys - Black Hole, i like the sound of this product, as i have brand new paint do i need a polish??

My budget is around £30

Thanks for any help

Hi Adam,

Is your car brand new?

If it's not new, it is likely that it will benefit from a claying session.

There is a guide here: http://www.vwaudiforum.co.uk/forum/showthread.php?t=56072

If your budget is around £30:

Zaino All In One (AIO) (http://www.elitedetailer.com/cgi-bin/hcat_catalogue.cgi?fa=display&id=17&crid=&cmrid=1&cmpid=2) £24.

Zaino Z-6 Ultra Clean Gloss Enhancer (http://www.elitedetailer.com/cgi-bin/hcat_catalogue.cgi?fa=display&id=10&crid=&cmrid=1&cmpid=2) £9

If you can stretch to this too its well worth it : Zaino Z2 Pro (http://www.elitedetailer.com/cgi-bin/hcat_catalogue.cgi?fa=display&id=13&crid=&cmrid=1&cmpid=2)

These products should last you at least 2-3 years.

I second Zaino. I used it on my Acura TSX and it provided great results.

Thanks for all the advice.

I commited cardinal sin last thursday :( Car Wash!! :( :(

Paint it in a terrible state, ive got the cob webb look all over the car.

I guess i'm going to have to cut it back to get rid if it??

The car is brand new (makes it even worse)

ED - I'll be getting those products you've suggested.

Again any advice welcomed.

Hi Adam,

Thats the last thing to want to do by taking it to a car wash.

You can either buy a machine polishing kit or do it by hand.

By hand:

Meguiars Scratch X (http://www.elitedetailer.com/cgi-bin/hcat_catalogue.cgi?fa=display&id=25&crid=&cmrid=1&cmpid=2)

Zaino Tri-foam Oval Zaino Applicator (http://www.elitedetailer.com/cgi-bin/hcat_catalogue.cgi?fa=display&id=29&crid=&cmrid=1&cmpid=2)

Time for some popeye arms. :beerchug:

Hi Adam,

You can either buy a machine polishing kit or do it by hand.

I tried a machine polisher once on a white 4Runner and it seriously messed up the paint (scratched it). Gave up on it immediately and went back to hand polishing.

I suggest doing it by hand unless the person has someone to teach them how to use the circular polisher. Black cars are not forgiving at all!

The autoglym high definition gives a very good finish on black cars and isn't too hard work.

Can't believe you used a car wash, I prefer to leave it dirty than use one of those.
