Hey all,

I’m new to the forum and now a proud owner of a VW Golf 1.8T (2001), it’s quite a high millage one (120000) but can’t fault it apart from the ones being read out by VAG that is heh. Please find below the fault readout from VAG, I’ve since cleared the codes from the engine area and going to give it a run in a minute just to see if me changing the BOV has cured some of the problems.

I’m posting this just for suggestions really, I’ve got a new temp sensor to add soon as my temp gauge is a bit weird (going up and down allot), and the coolant warning light coming on for a few minutes until she warms up. But other than that I have rough idling on a cold start and frequent misfiring when cold, but fine when warmed up, but after a short journey of being on the boost a bit, when I come to a standstill the revs almost cut-out and then start to pulse as if I’m revving at idle. So anyway thanks in advance http://www.vwvortex.com/vwbb/smile.gif.

Can't help with your engine codes but for the mirrors see:-

You could also look for the error codes in the ross tech site aswell

Remove and clean your throttle body and reset it in Basic Settings 04, Main Group 060. Fit a new Air Mass Meter and lambda sensor before the catalyst.

Cheers guys, i cleared the codes and put on a recirc valve instead of my dump valve and it seems i only have the boost pressure to worry about now, might clean the throttle anyway just to be sure, does anyone know how to check for pressure leaks, i know that there are guides on here but i'm a bit blond so i need pics :).

Thanks again..

The only accurate way to check for charge air system leaks is with the VAG charge air system tester, mine cost me over £400 with all the adapters.
