Yes standard alloys, the only option i had was the leather steering wheel with the steel looking insert which included leather stitched handbrake and better leather around the gear gator, it was 108 extra

I think on the GT most of the stuff I need can be accessed via the multi function buttons on the steering wheel, and if not I've got the vag com as a backup. ;)

looking at all the menus you wont use or change most of the settings anyway, manual says press button onder wirer stalk then press for 1 second button on end of stalk, sounds easy but still no menu settings, will av to nip it to dealer

The GT is not sold in Australia but its replaced by the 118TSI (118 KW).
To differentiate it from the 105KW model, the TSI badge is colour coded. Red i on the TSI for 105KW and red SI for 118 KW model. If you specify the sport pack, you get sport seats, lower springs and uprated shocks. 17" wheels with 225/45 X 17 tyres and tinted windows. This is a picture of mine.

Ordered a red GT TDI -should be coming over 3rd week in April,but salesman called in yesterday and tells me they are having difficulties with shipping,over 30 cars outstanding for March already--or is this an excuse if it does not turn up as promised.

Its got to be better than the Bl***dy EOS we have at the moment.

Picked up my GT this afternoon - and I can't over just how much quicker it is compared to my last car, an "E" Class V6 Merc.

I'm just back in from a drive this evening of about 100 miles and thoroughly enjoyed myself - even managed 59.1 mpg! :)

Interesting to see you've gone for the 3dr as well - almost all of the reviews seem to be of 5dr models, but personally I prefer this look, despite the obvious reduction in practicality.

Its a really nice feeling opening the door in the morning and getting a waft of that new car smell. Its up there with new baby, chicken tikka masala and burnt caster oil used in old racing car engines. :D

Well, bearing in mind I moved over from a 1.9td Passat, it drives like poop off a shovel! It's silky smooth, really quiet and bloomin' fast.
I've had no probs at all with the engine yet. It's always had ummph (I believe this is the correct technical term) when I've wanted it.
I am, however, finding 1 issue with the speed - because it's so quiet and fast, it's easy to be going much faster than you thought, especially on motorways. Worth noting is that the speedo goes 60-70-80-100 (skipping 90).
I've got cruise control, so I use this to make sure I regulate my speed.
I think I'm averaging about 35mpg since picking the car up. Not sure if this is good or bad.

Oh, and flies! The front of this car is like some kind of fly magnet. Windscreen, wing mirrors, bumper, bonnet, number plate. Anything forward-facing picks up flat flies like there's no tomorrow. I drove back from Devon yesterday (~150 miles) and it looks like it needs another clean already.
