I'm new here so if this is the wrong place to post this, please be gentle with me.
I have a Golf 'Match' 1.9 TDI, that was bought new in November 2008 and has done 2,200 miles. Within the last few days there's been a very worrying intermittent 'scraping' noise coming - so far as I can make out - from one of the offside wheels. It doesn't do it all the time, nor specifically when braking, cornering or going over uneven surfaces and it doesn't affect the handling, but it is loud. Obviously I'll be going to the garage asap, but has anyone any suggestions as to what it could be since I'm concerned it could be dangerous and my garage is some 20 miles away.
