Hey guys,
Newbie to this forum but thought you guys may have some insight as it seems my other forums are kind of dry on the subject. I have an 03 B6 Front-trak with the multitronic (CVT) gearbox. There are 69K miles on the clock. I have vag-com and no DTC's are produced from the tranny control module. I changed the CVT fluid with the proper oem fluid according to procedure listed in the Bentley Repair Manual. When I removed the old fluid I was very pleased as it was clean with no sign of burning and no metallic shavings or other contaminants whatsoever. 2 months and roughly 1,500 miles later I now notice a whirring sound. If I place transmission in neutral whirring sound disappears instantly. When I brake it disappears. When I accelerate the sound disappears. Only while in cruise or while foot is applied to the accelerator only enough to maintain speed does the sound become apparent. Sounds like a wheel bearing only its not. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
