a4 saloon boot switch

hi - i changed solenoid today to solve "boot not closing" problem on 2003 A4 saloon. Was chuffed to bits at my work but now boot will not open using the tailgate switch. It does open using keyfob. Have I damaged something or am i unlucky and switch/solenoid both died at the same time?

would be grateful for any help - is there a fuse for boot switch, or wiring i may have pulled out by accident.
