Can anyone recomend a decent seat protector for the driver's seat for my 2007 A4 saloon.
It' back in the dealers for it's second replacement in less than a year the last only lasting 7000 miles.

I presume you're touching cloth mate?

In the B6 (the model before your A4, which has exactly the same seats) Audi offered a really tough-wearing Buffalo leather finish.

Assuming you are touching cloth :naughty: you could consider a retro-fit.
It'll probably cost between £400 - £600 for second-hand Buffalo leather seats.. but I doubt you'll get Audi to foot the bill although they may contribute something or offer to fit them for free! (certainly worth asking).

There is a set of Avant leather seats for sale on eBay right now for £395 - click here (http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Audi-A4-FULL-CREAM-LEATHER-INTERIOR-Audi-B7-2005-model_W0QQitemZ160316154285QQcmdZViewItemQQptZUK_C arsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM?hash=item16031615428 5&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14&_trkparms=72%3A1689%7C66%3A2%7C65%3A12%7C39%3A1%7C 240%3A1318)

Hope that helps
Al.

Yep the cloth I'm touching is the black mikado. Don't really want to go down the retro fit leather if at all possible.
Saw some seat protectors at the roofbox company and just wondered if anyone has used these saw some cheaper ones on the Halfords web site just wondered if thes would stop the cloth going all bobbly or would they rub it up as well.

Just wondering.. are you very tall or built like a BSH? (for want of a better expression!)

I've never heard of seats wearing out so quickly!

I think the seat protectors would take the brunt of the wear but as they aren't slippy (because that'd be dangerous!) some of the rubbing will be transferred to the seat material below.

That said, they are definitely worth getting. You can also get some quality black leather seat covers (not sure where from, sorry). I think leather is the ideal material if you've having heavy seat wear problems.

I'm six foot tall and 12stone 10 not exactly BSH.
I've seen the leather seat covers at the roofbox company. I'll give them a call to see what they recommend:o

What did you do in the end Ade?

At the moment nothing. Audi replaced the seatcover again under warranty.
I'm still looking for some decent seatcovers and am open to suggestions.:o
