Hi - relatively new Golf Mk 5 1.9 TDI (05 plate) owner.... recently had problem with front wipers not working and alarm not switching on when locking car - local specialist traced it to the bonnet sensor...(!)

Since I have the car back, the small digit in the top right of the read out has changed from a 1 to a 2... what do these numbers mean?

Now, when using right stalk buttons to scroll though computer, it used to give me miles travelled that day, and time I had been driving - these values are now 75 hours and 2500 miles!

Bit confused... anyone shed any light?

Thanks, Ed.

The 1 and the 2 represent values recorded over short journeys and overall since last reset.

If you press the small button underneath the stalk, it will revert back to mode 1, and then if you press and hold the button, it will reset the values.

Hi Ed,
I used to wonder what the little number 1 and 2 were too. Then I found the button that switches the trip computer from your current journey trip details and the cumulative details from when your trip computer was reset, so by what you've said, you've done 75 hours worth of driving since the trip computer was reset.
The button to switch between them both is found on the underside of your right stalk.
Hope this helps

Thanks! Can't believe I have never seen that button on the underside of the stalk before. Must have been the garage that reset before as I never have...
