Hi Roy, may I ask what is wrong with your driveshaft? I was looking at replacing mine too - seems that most of the driveshafts for the 1.8T 2002+ A4's are the same part number...

Sounds simular to mine - are you sure it's not the tyres scrubbing? Apparently a common problem - feels like the car jumping sideways slightly on hard lock...normally right. Anyhow the part number which I was going to go for was 8E0407452EX/ 8E0407272AH, it apparently fits all A4 cars with a 4 cylinder engine 2001 - 2005. Other option to be absolutey sure is to phone Audi and ask. http://www.VAGcat.com will list the part - you will need to register but I find it very useful.

Try Stafford Audi, they advertise on e bay, i am sure i saw some A4 driveshafts going cheap. P.s its not a huge job to replace the c.v gaiter unless the joint has been run dry for too long. I usually completely strip the joint (mark the position of the central spider in relation to the outer case) and give all the balls and parts a good clean, re-grease, re-assemble, and put on car, then fill with grease (proper grease/proper amount) and finally clip on new gaiter. Use proper clip pliers if you can.
