Can anyone help me.

I have an Audi Q7 and want to turn off the seat belt warning tone. I have the diagnostic machine to do this and have the current 7 digit ECU code for this module (17). The number is 2657448. Now i know each section relates to certain functions added together and if you subtract 02 from somewhere in the digit it will turn it off. Problem is this is a brand new 07 model and Audi are saying that they can not turn it off on this vehicle which i find it hard to believe. This Q7 is a 3.0TDI V6 S-line fully loaded one so i guess i have to be specific with the coding number so as not to turn off any other functions like the headlamp swtich on with doors open etc. Rather than a trial and error attempt it would be good if anyone knows the breakdown of the code.

:aargh4: Put your seat belt on.... thats the easiest way..

It can be done, however im not sure on the Q7 what the coding is.. (audi wont do it as its a safty feature.. )
.. i know how to on the golf but i wont post anything as the codes wont be the same...

I will have a look around for you!

Yes all the other instrument clusters can be coded quite easily, as they are normally a 7 digit number but the first two digits are usually zeros. I could try a process of elimination by subtracting 02 off part of the code until it works but this could take ages and potentially throw up some problems if the original coding number wouldn't go back in.

If you can find out something that would be a big help, thanks.

i have still not come across anything for this yet..

i will do a bit of digging..

ps.. i take it you dont want to wear your seat belt as you wil be off road going over fields pulling bails of hay out of the back.. 4x4 and all :D

It is a customers car, and their sporting career relies on them having legs so they should put the seat belt on really.

Yea 30 seconds everytime you start the car, and thats about 20 times a day. Believe me it can get annoying, the only way i have found to deaden the sound is to drown it with the stereo sound.
