I've just bought a 57 plate S5. Its got the sat nav and MMI but I can't see any obvious way in which to connect my iPod. Does anyone know whether the iPod compatibility is standard and if so how I connect it. I've looked in the glove box and all the obvious places but can't see anything.

Thanks for any help.

John.

Ipod isnt/wasn't standard. You need an AMI (Audi Music Interface) kit.

Thanks for the reply Issac. Yeah, I think that's it. My car has the sat nav plus system and tv!, so I kind of assumed it would have the ipod link, but no its doesn't have the AMI. I have spoken to Audi who say that they can retrofit it for about £700...so I'll not be bothering!

£700 is just stupid in my opinion. I retro fitted the AMI option (it really is very very good) to my A6 for just £300.

Thanks Issac, was that through an Audi dealer or with a merchant electronics company?

I bought the parts from Audi and Ebay and fitted them myself, only takes about half an hour to plug it in.
