Hi chaps,

probably been asked a million times before but my a4 tdi sport currently has the std' 16" 5 spoke efforts. The ride i would say is hard as it being the sport model, im looking to slap on some new 18" RS6's but im concerned about:

1) Making the ride uncomfortably hard (The roads I drive to work down look like a scene from the blitz)

2) Altering to handling of the car in a negative way.

Can anyone who has put some 18's on their A4 sport comment?

Also what is the correct PCD, offset etc etc? Its a 51 plate.

Thanks in advance!

I have put 18 inch RS4's on A4 avant with 225/45 tyres on and been running em for last 18 months of ownership with no dramas whatsoever. Not even effected ride/handling. Better in corners I reckon. If they're genuine audi wheels then the offset etc shouldn't matter. Non jens you need to watch. If you are still in doubt then find a wheel fitment guide via google and check the absolute bang on correct figures you require for your vehicle. Incidentally, where do you rave???????????

I've got 18s on my sport saloon and the ride is hard but can't remember it being any softer before I stuck the new wheels on, handling is the same aswell, if anything it will probably be slightly improved as the wheels are far wider so give more grip. PCD you need is 5x112. When you say RS6s, do you mean rep alloys of the new RS6? Or the 5 spoke ones that everyone else has on their A4?

Yeah i will be going for replica wheels, my pockets really could not stretch to original ones, as sugguesed i will do a bit of homework to ensure the exact fitment is provided - there are alot of companys selling the replicas that appear prepared to sell you anything with a 5 stud pattern with little regard for having the correct spec!

I was going to go for the 5 spoke RS6's, I know they are common but just feel they would suit the car best, any other design sugguestions gratefully recieved my a4 is denim blue by the way.

I dont really rave that often anymore - Im a bit oldskool - used to do all the Dreamscapes & Helter Skelters back in the 90's.....Happy dayz : P

Just put replica 18" RS6 five spokes in my 02 1.8T SE.
Try www.alloyguide.co.uk (http://www.alloyguide.co.uk) to get your wheel info
Does anyone know if the springs from the 1.8T Sport are shorter than standard SE springs??

Thanks

Jack, as long as the PCD is 5x112 you'll be fine mate.

Mine's also denim blue. If you can find a set of the new RS6 replicas then they would be sweet. Or maybe the new S3 or S8 alloys. Those old RS6 alloys are just so common now as they come as an option on newer A4s. Just go for something a bit different mate. I'm considering new RS6 reps or just some old school BBS from the old RS6. (not the 5 spoke ones that are advertised everywhere)

I have 19" S5 alloys and the ride is lets say "firm" The one thing I dont like is shredding my alloys against a curb that is only a couple of inches high

Yea I can imagine. You must have 30 profile tyres on them?
How much did you pay out of interest?

You did well to sell them for £360. I wouldn't have paid more than £250 if they were used and not more than £150 if all the tyres were gone.

Yeah was just wondering if they were a replica of an actual OEM Audi wheel or just some funky design that someone had come up with, looking on the net it looks like they are a replica of the 2008 TT wheels

Would they look any good on an A4, just looking for people opionions as the choice gets confusing lol

I've got the classic 9 spoke audi sport replica 18" alloys on my 52 plate A4 sport cabrio with 235/40 tyres. I find the ride ok on decent roads but too harsh on broken surfaces plus I feel I have to steer around any big holes!

Two of my tyres are coming up for a change, note the best deal on a premium 235/40/18 is going to be circa £145 fitted (tyretrader.com cheaper than blackcircles) whereas a 235/45/17 would be £105.

Because of the cost difference and potential to improve the ride on my A4 I'm thinking of going back to a standard set of 5 spoke 17" wheels....
