94 passat cl horn trouble

Hi guys my horn was playing up and i replaced it with a new one , still sounds the same though, i think the problem lies with a bad earth , i have clean connections to the horn , i can only assume that the earth running from the horn button to the horn is poor, anyone have a similar problem or any ideas on replacing the earth ?

bolt an earth wire to the steering rack and then to body

Hi towcester thanks Where would be a suitable place to bolt on to steering rack?

if i remember there is 3 m8 bolt holes on top centre of rack you could use and take the other end to vehicle chassis/body
