View Full Version : Help my air bag light is still on!!!!

Hi my problem is n/s side airbag fault code 01222 tried clearing with reset tool and chopped off connector block under seat and soldered wires together as recommended by other people who have had this problem. Is there anyone who knows what to do next, i just want the light out:(:( any advice please;)

OOPS i should have said my car is a 2000 model Passat 1.9 tdi.

I guess that soldering the wires together would throw up a fault code. You have just created a short circuit! Maybe a resistor would do a better job.

Hi when i say solder the wires together i mean without the use of the connector block but soldering the wires to there respective opposites so effectively joining if that makes sense, not all soldered together as a mass . :)

there is more information need than just the code. There are several possibilities when this code is thrown. See the Ross-Tech wiki: http://wiki.ross-tech.com/index.php/01222

I would say removing the connector and soldering them together is a little drastic. It could be a faulty unit or sensor etc. Post up a scan and maybe that will help us out more :D

Hello again when you say post up a scan what do you mean? Sorry may be its me but i've got the fault code do you think i should be able to get more info with the aid of vag com?

If you go into autoscan and scan the car, you will get text file. with output like this
