fault code help please

I have just broken down due to a dead battery, sorted now witha new one but on checking things over the AA man noticed my engine management light on, it had been on since the last cold damp spell so I had put it down to damp corupting the sensor, anyway a fault come up on his machine "Mixture lean bank one' anyone know what this means and a probable cause.

These are some of the possibilitys , Check intake system for leaks
Check secondary air system for leaks:
Check air mass meter
Check fuel pressure regulator and holding pressure
Check injectors
Check exhaust system for leaks:
Check activated charcoal filter solenoid valve
Check Lambda probe and Lambda regulation before catalyst

I recently had the same problem on my 2.4. It turned out to be dodgy temp sensor. Not what I would have guessed first as the temp gauge was still reading correctly.
