Octavia A5 brake light glows

Hi,I have an Octavia 2.0TDi late 2004 , the high level brake light glows
(just the first 3 LEDs on the right and the first 3 on the left) when I shut the hatch.When I open the hatch they stop, If I press the brake pedal they all light up bright, I tried removing Fuse 7- No effect.
No effect locking/ unlocking either. The 6 LED's are just a low glow.

I am worried that this is draining the battery continuously:1zhelp: Any Ideas?

Possibly a faulty brake light switch, it is dual feed.

No good looking, removing the switch kills it. Fit a new one, they are about £10.

Have had this problem twice this month, try looking at the wiring behind the left hand trim panel in the boot, the rear washer pipe comes apart and soaks the wiring creating a short.

You may have a broken wire issue in the loom between the tailgate and the body.
