My car starts first crank if left for 24 hours. However, if it is warm, or even has been left for several hours, it takes at least 7-10 seconds of cranking before it fires up. Thereafter it runs fine. Any ideas what's causing this?

A faulty temp sensor perhaps.

I had the same problem with my 80 2.0E 1995 and for a while it would start if you just sat patiently until it coughed into life. However, it wouldn't start at all on Sunday after a couple of very short trips, which hadn't allowed it to warm up. AA got me going to get home but now it's in the garage and they are indeed going to replace the temp sensor and see what happens. It has also been running very rich so hopefully it will sort this out as well. They are great cars but I have spent a FORTUNE on mine in the past year! :aargh4: Will let you know if the temp sensor sorts it out or if they do anything else
