View Full Version : Question 2003 A4 Avant 1.8T IGNITION issue?

Hello, I turn the key to start my car. She starts and then immediately stalls.

It's as if the car THINKS I am turning off the ignition.

If I put the lights on, the console lights and stereo lights blink as if there is a bad connection somewhere....

UGH.

Anyone had this issue, heard of this issue or have any thoughts on what I am in for. IGNITION switch?

Sounds like the immobilisor is cutting in ...
Do you have a flashing key symbol on the dash ?

I brought the car to the dealer already but I THINK you're right the KEY icon on the dash was blinking among other things.

If it is the immobilizer, what kind of work do you think I am looking at?

its prety comon its the wire that links it up very cheap and easy to fit u need steering wheel off lower cowl etc but easy i think the wire ir 16 quid
