Hi all this is my first time on here. Glad i have found you .

I have an 1.8 diesel R reg. When i turn the steering wheel when moving slowly or stationary it makes a concerning juddering noise as if it is dry. it sounds like 2 bits of metal are trying to slide against each other , it makes a jerky juddering. It seems like it is dry of grease , but can't see any obvious grease nipple .
Has anyone else had this problem? Can anyone help with a solution please.

Had the same sort of problem on my 02 alhambra. Turns out its quite a common thing for the alternator pulley to fail and cause dry steering noises .
Do a liitle more digging on the alternator pulley on this forum but i think its prob the same .

Think i was £40 for mine fae vw but u need a special tool to change it so bargain with them that you will only buy it if the change it when u go to get it .
