08 Golf 1.9 TDI Clutch Probelms

Left My 08 Golf 1.9TDI into Main Dealer for 15K Service

They say they Clutch does not feel right and they have to remove the gear box to inspect it .It will be covered under the warranty they say but I dont notice anything wrong with the clutch but Am New to VW TDI s.
Is there an issue with these clutches?

I think the car is very new to have the gear box removed

Have Had loads of older Jap cars and never this probelm

If they're offering then that's a bonus, as usually it's very difficult to get them repair anything without a fault code or the blinding obvious.
