A4 Brake Pad Warning Light

How long have I got once this light comes on to get the barke pads replaced? Am I in immineny danger or can I still drive for a couple of hundred miles? If I have an accident with this warning light showing will I be automatically liable?

Can't answer about liability, but when the light came on mine i booked it in for an MOT the same week as i was due soon. I asked them to have a look at the pads, they said they were adequate for MOT.
1000-1500 miles later though they were very low so there is some mileage left on yours, but not loads. For the sake of an hour of your time, £30 and peace of mind you might as well do them yourself if you're able to.

Audi told me 1000 miles left when the light is orange, urgent if the light is red. Feel free to take Audi's advice with a pinch of salt though, I know I do...
