Hi,
I have an outstanding argument with my insurance company.

My Car is an A4 Avant 1.9TDI 130PS Quattro Sport - 2003 with 131410 miles on the clock - not chipped, clocked or tuned in anyway!

A 38ton lorry (LHD) pushed me off the road by hitting my LH R quarter panel, spinning the RH Rear wheel into the Kerb and spinning me across two busy lanes of traffic.

Luckily - and i don't know how - but i was the only car hit in this accident.
well.
Instead of writing the car off. the insurance company:
Jigged the car
Fitted a new sill
repaired or replaced 3 wheels
Repaired 2 bumbers
replaced 2 doors
replace 1 wing
repaired one bonnet
one tailgate
etc.etc.
but since the accident, the car has been delivered back, but with a noisy rear Diff so i sent it back!
The insurance company are now saying this is due to the car doing 131400 miles and this is wear and tear - i say not!
so.
Fellow VAG colleagues; to help me in my quest of sanity - (because i want to prove without stripping the diff at my expense) if exerting force on the wheel (sideways) could puch the diff bearing further inside the case.
Basically - does anyone have an exploded view for a May 2003 Quattro Rear Diff please?
the audi price for this item is 2588 GBP + 2hrs labour (which i would do my self, but thats not the point!:1zhelp:
I do have ETKA, ELSA and ELSAWIN (after parting with loads of cash!) but I have not done the course on how to use it yet - unless any of you could help! - Many many thanks in advance - oh and thanks for reading!

Bez,
I did try telling them before the repairer collected the car that I would be happy for them to write it off!
I also told them the items it needed to get the car back to the original state - and clearly stated that there was a noise (developed due to the accident) on the drive line.

The car is still at the repairers, and I have already rejected it once.
emailled them that i don't want it - and didn't due to the accident!

Now..
Who am I insured with......
Will i'm not going to mention company names, but if you do a search on google for Iggy Pop, you will find out who he is the face off right at this moment!
I'm not saying that he is responsible, but the company he represents is my insurer.
Although I'm based in the UK, the lorry driver is Polish, and it wasn't envisaged that the compay he drove for would have accepted liability within 18months at least - although 4 weeks after the accident, my insurers recieved aletter of liabilty from him!
Although the damage didn't look too bad i have tried to upload the photos for those of you who are slightly curious.

I do need to say that I have owned the car for around one and a half years now, and have put on over 50,000 miles already!
So far i have personally replaced:-
Cambelt
Full Discs and Pads all round (Mintex)
Clutch
Dual Mass Flywheel
Audi Services (x2)
6 tyres (Dunlop Sportmaxx last ages for me (Around 40,000miles)
Replaced Inner Drivers door windows switches and surrounding panel

so I have looked after the car really!

Just one point....

in order to help fight my campaign with the insurance company regarding the Diff.

Could you all please post your honest opinions in relation to the following question (bearing in mind that Audis are very good at going over 300000 miles.

How long (with regular Audi approved servicing, and folliwing the correct services schedule) should an A4 1900 TDI Quattro Rear Diff last?

If some comments say "It's about ready at 130,000 miles" i will take your comments seriously - obviously - i am now canvassing opinions from experienced VAG enthusiasts, mechanics and specialists by posting my plea here.

I trust you all with valid - honest opinions.

Many thanks - and please post a comment - even if it is to say tough luck pal!

i am no expert but the audi quattro drive system is renowned for being bullet proof i used to own an audi a6 2.8 quattro sport with 168000 miles on the clock and i never heard a peep from it. in fact i cant remember ever reading a post that as discussed a problem with the quattro system
