Wet Passenger Footwell

I have noticed that my 2003 passat 130 TDI is getting a misty on the winscreen. I felf the carpet of the passenger footwell, as i remembered back to my Corrady VR6 days that this used to be a common problem with coolant leaking from the heater matrix. Sure enough the carpet is wet, however the coolant level has not dropped. Can anyone shed any light on this problem? Is it a coon problem with these cars? many thanks in advance:confused:
