Help please !!
Got a 53 plate 1.9 Vrs with 72K on the clock which is starting to get through headlight bulbs. Having to put them in every couple of months. Also replacing the tail lights and sidelights more than I would have thought acceptable. Have had the problem of the steering light coming on and resetting it by 'on/off' the ignition but haven't had this problem for a long while. Had to fit a new battery about 4 months ago when I stopped in a traffic jam and turned the engine off but everything was totally dead when I came to restart although it was running perfect until then. Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks
Mike

Hi I think the alternator is over charging.

As kenney says. Put a multimeter (voltmeter) across the battery terminals and rev the engine. If it goes much above 14v the alternator regulator is faulty.

Looks like it's not over charging then.
