It is located near the front of the engine as you look at it, near the inside of the bumper by the air pipes. I found it fiddly to replace, but then I'm not a mechanic. The number will be on it.

Is that on the left or the right hand side when your looking at it .. ?

Has anyone got a picture of what it should look like ?

Thanks

It is on the right hand side of the engine in front of and below the turbo.

The handing of a car doesn’t change; the left is always the left and the right always the right no matter how you look at it.

Is that the N75 ? As I bought one from VW and it looks exactly the same as the one at the top of the Air Filter ?

It should be part number 1J0 906 627 A. The one on the air cleaner is for the EGR valve and looks the same but is part number 1J0 906 627.

Found it.

What does the anti-shudder do.. should it move at all and should there be any pressure in the hose to it ?

The N75 valve is down in front of the turbo, The anti shudder valve stops the engine shuddering on shut down and only flips over for a moment on shut down. It is vacuum operated.

Crasher... what happens if the anti-shudder does not move at all ? I dont recall it moving when the car is switched off and I dont think there is any vacuum at all in the pipe to it ?
