Hi guys,
Passat GT, 1990, 8v Digifant: Recon engine 5k ago: Over the last couple of weeks I have started to notice that the car is slow to start when its hot. Cold start no problem but started to have to crank it over for a while before it would fire when hot.
This evening I went out to the car after it had been standing for ~1hr, still warm, and it will not start. Turns over freely but does not fire.
Its dark and snowing so I will not be able to check much until the morning but I can smell petrol at the exhaust so I think its a no spark issue...
Any ideas before I start tomorrow?
Cheers
Rob

OK car started fine this morning. Let the water temp get up to 90C and now it won't start again.
Looking at the threads last night it seems it could be the coolant temperature sensor needs replacing? I am getting one from GSF but in the meantime is there any way I can bypass the sensors influence and so keep the car starting when warm?

if you unplug the sensor it will go to a fixed setting but will go into basic setting mode and may not run correctly
