Hello all,
Has anyone got any ideas??
I recently purchased a MK4 Golf anniversary 2002 with a snapped cam belt. I stripped the head off and sent it to the local engine specialists to have the 4 bent valves replaced. Whilst doing them there was some wear on the buckets too, so some of these were replaced. The guy didn't know how to time the cams up so just put them on the markers on the head. The valves all opened and closed as they should when the cams rotated. The engine is all rebuilt now and will start and run. It only starts every so often 1 in 4 tries, there is a fault code on the VAG-COM, Implausible signal from the cam shaft sensor. I replaced this but it is still the same??? The car seems to run okay?? Is there some set up required on the cams that will give me the right cam signal out??
Any ideas would be appreciated..!!
