Just wondering if anyone has any views/comments on the upcoming 2.0TDi A5. Audi are doing a free upgrade to Sports model plus the emissions are really low so it has become a viable option for mas a company car (versus A4). I am currently trying to get a test drive to see what the performance is like but not sure if there are any available yet.

Demos will hit the UK in the next 4 weeks. In the mean time why not test drive an A4 2.0TDI 170.

bizarrely i have been offered a 3.0TDi tiptronic for a test drive when i am neededing a 2.0TDi manual. I think its best to not be tempted by the 3L so I will give it miss and wait a bit..
I am also trying to get a test on the equivalent A4

Well, I have done the deed and ordered an A5 this afternoon via our leasing company

A5 2.0TDI 170 Sport
Deep Sea Blue
Sat Nav
Advanced Parking System
Heated Seats
Auto Hill Start
Auto Dimming Mirror (inc auto wipers/headlights)
Bluetooth Low
Cruise Control

Cost : £31600

The only option i debated was the 'comfort access key' but decided to miss it in favour of the advanced parking.

Audi are offering a free upgrade from 2.0TDi to the Sport model and also including bluetooth and cruise control. This gave a reduced list price, reduced lease rate and lower tax bill so meant i could add a few extra options.
Also Audi have a price increase coming in on 23rd Feb so hopefully I have avoided that (though not sure yet)
Another bonus may be that Audi website is now saying the CO2 emissions are 139 versus the 140 it said in Jan so thats 1% off my tax bill

Only down side is that my current lexus Is220d lease doesn't expire until 1st week of May so thats the earliest I can have the A5.

My audi 2.0TDI was ordered in feb and i have a May delivery date. First shipments are supposed to be march but i haven't seen any yet. Anyway I was just looking at the april A5 brochure and there have been some changes since the one i used in jan. The main one is that start/stop technology is included and the emissions have gone down 140 to 139 i.e one band. I am trying to find out if this will be included on mine but having no luck as the lease company are clueless. I am hoping that as first shipments were march, the start/stop will be standard for all 2.0TDI's but can't be sure.
I am going to try and contact the dealer to see if they can get more infomation on the exact spec of my car but they often only talk to the lease company.
Only a few weeks to go!!!

Hi

It will not be on your car I bet (Stop/Start). Week 22 build and after for Model year 2010 cars.

But I bet you will love the car

well i'm finally the proud owner of an A5 as it arrived yesterday. Done a couple of hundred miles and its great. Got over 50mpg on a 90mile trip... Gadgets are great though not yet read the manual.. I was surprised they gave me some ipod/usb cables to attach to the socket in the glove box as i didn't order the AMI option - I'll have to try and see if i can connect my ipod and it would be a pleasant surprise if it works.

even happier than before as it turns out I have the AMI inc ipod/usb cables and it all works a treat.

Thanks for the info. I too am strongly considering the 2.0TDi. I have never owned a diesel but the fuel saving figures are really appealing. Its just a shame they don't do it in auto.

Congrats on the new car mate! :beerchug:

Have you had a look at the www.a5oc.com (http://www.a5oc.com) forums? It's the site dedicated to the A5/S5 and it's full of extremely knowledgeable people and some great info.

(I realise i've plugged the site three times in four posts today. No I don't own the site!)

Thanks for the tip and the a5oc forum is really impressive with lots of useful info. I was struggling with getting my key out after stopping in that it kept getting stuck but a tip mentioned pausing for 0.5seconds before pulling out and that works a treat. I've done 1000 miles in the first week as myself and 2 friends went on a long weekend playing golf and i was amazed that with 3 of us, our luggage and 3 sets of golf clubs, the car still managed 50.4mpg over a 500mile weekend. No complaints whatsoever so far

Hello from France (excuse my bad english...)

I've found your forum and I need some help. I've bought a A5 2.0 TDI , S line , grey quartz and I don't find any pics of this car, exactly.
I'll receive it on august. So it wil be a year 2010 car.
Is there anybody here who have the same car (year 2009, it's good too !) and can send me some pics of it ?
I know the wheel is on the wrong side (the good is in France...:D) , but I'll watch your pics in a mirror !...
Please answer me on mp.
Thanks a lot.
Stéphane

How's your average mpg going - I've had my A5 2.0 TDI sport for 2 months - I've done 2000miles and am only getting around 40.6mpg - is this normal? I was expecting to get slightly more out of it than I currently am.

Less than 1000 km and I've done : 5,5 liters/100kms on highway and 7,5 liters/100kms in town. I think it's around 43,5mpg (middle between 37mpg and 50mpg !). How much do you pay your gallon ? Here in France it's around 4,5 €

not sure what it is in Euros - I'm paying £1.00 per litre - it costs me around £62 to fill up. I'm averaging 37.7 mpg - I'm a little dissapointed as the manufactures data says I should expect 46 mpg on a combined cycle.
