cv joint collapse

i need a new cv joint as mine give up does anyone know of a how to on replacing this as my local auto parts store have told me there are 3 different ones and they need to see old one so they know which one to give me i will have car apart tomorrow anyway to replace suspension arms so a quick guide on removing cv joint would be helpful cheers mark

if you quote your chassis number to the stores most responsible ones have access to an online database to identify the correct parts.

I do this when I order from GSF and they are very helpful as I am sure others will be too.

I believe that the main visible on the car difference between the CV joints is the centre bolt size but the above route is best to be certain.

I changed my O/S CV joint on friday , got it from Euro car parts for £17 plus vat , took me about an hour to change , I have a 130 sport est and can let you know part numbers tomorrow if it helps , I fitted an ATE one.
