I have a 1998 1.8 petrol Passat Automatic with 93,000 miles which appears to be changing up particularly late under slow acceleration on moderate to long inclines (e.g. Dartford river crossing bridge during rushhour) where acceleration is gradual. It can sometimes rev to over 4500rpm before changing and then do the same for the next ratio. under all other conditions it seems to work fine.
I have had the transmission checked by an auto transmission specialist who said no fault codes are indicated and also changed the oil at the same time, road tested and could find nothing wrong
Does anyone have any similar experience or could comment if this is normal?
