Hi everyone, this is my first time although I'm sure that this question has been asked more than once one way or the other.

A6, Y reg, 110,000 miles - runs fine, no funny noises or smoke, etc. its just that above approx 2500 revs it seems to hit a flat spot and the response is very slow as if the turbo is not working. Also fails to hold its speed on the cruise control if there is an incline but will pick up slowly and hold again once the road becomes flat.

Many threads suggest MAF for similar symptoms like loss of power etc, I wonder if the above is also symptomatic of a dodgy MAF sensor.

Would really appreciate your thoughts.

Whoops sorry - 1.9 TDI.

I went for a drive yesterday just to try and narrow down the symptoms. To be perfectly honest it seems to be pretty flat throughout the whole range although it is slightly better up to about 2500 revs. Non Audi garage carried out an ecu interrogation and said that no faults were stored and suggested I took it to an Audi Specialist who would have the necessary equipment to check it out. Local Audi charges an arm and a leg so I thought I would use this forum to sound out any ideas/thoughts. It will accelerate using the speed control but has the same sluggish response as using the pedal. Just thought I would add that bit because I saw a post somewhere that mentioned sensor on the pedal or something similar.

Cheers Tim

Just to let you all know that I purchased a MAF sensor from the portland group on ebay http://stores.ebay.co.uk/The-Portland-Group for £27.50 + p&p. Guaranteed for 12 months or 30000 miles. Excellent service and cured the problem. Took approx 10 -15 minutes to change and car is now back to normal and accelerating like the old days.
