Polo Key

Hi, I've an 04 polo from a friend, however the key given works fine but is not VW branded it has a 'KL' Mark on it and a blue mark can anyone tell me what the origional key should look like and how do you go about programming?

The key I have has no buttons, its solid but works the central locking
and starts the engine,

What model is the polo and should it come with remote locking. On my polo I've only got central locking and both keys are solid (on our Passat with remote both keys are flip type).
The Polo keys both have the VW logo on them but it sounds as if you have the spare.

Volkswagen Polo S (3 Door Hatchback). Is the vehicle so I'm not sure if the central locking should be remote or not, and is it easy to program another key I presume they communicate with the immobilizer?

I think that the S came with central locking but not remote, therfore no coding, so it should be straight forward enough to get a new key. You may have to go to the nearest VW dealer as they would want chassis number for key details and maybe log book for proof of ownership.
