driving through large puddle eerr small lake

I drove through a large area of surface water today big enough for an oncoming druggie mobil to drown the car in front of me. When I hit it (to fast really) the EPS warning light came on for a split second. Doe's this indicate a problem or can I expect this as the norm. Any advice appreciated. Thanks
