Another 2 VAG codes that don't mean anything to me!

Whilst in France my engine management light came on so as I was near a dealer I thought I would ask what the problem was. They were extremely helpful and plugged their laptop thingy into the OBD port and it produced 2 codes: 17831 P1423 093 and 17819 P1411 093. They said they were something to do with emissions but were not serious and reset the light. Can anyone confirm to me exactly what these mean? Many thanks. PS Mines a 97 A6 2.8 Quattro Avant (C4).

Can you get it read-read to double check the code numbers ?

I have a Volkswagen, Passat, 2001, V6 which has recently been throwing
me codes 17831 (P1423) & 17819 (P1411). Per the eBahn manual the codes
are noting the cause as "throughput too small" on bank 1 & 2. eBahn
recommends, "check secondary system for leakage". This is fine and
dandy, but it doesn't tell me which part of the system to check. The
system consist of two parts that could be leaking 1) Vacuum Hoses that
operate the combo valves, 2) Secondary Air Hoses which pushes air into
the exhaust valve system. So far I have checked the passage of air
from the Air Filter through the pump and into the Y tube. So far I
cannot find a reason for the codes.

Unless the techy has specific and personal knowledge of that very car, then it is perfect reasonable to clear the codes back to the base settings, ask the owner to drive around for a few miles/days, and bring it back for re-reading of the codes. Afterall, they could have been left from previous works!
