Passat TDI cuts out

Hello all.

I have a 1995 Passat TDI esate.

The other day the engine just cut out, tried to start serveral times but no joy. I thumped the dashboard in frustration and turned the key it started.

This as happened several times each time thump the dash and it starts.

In the last 12 months its had new cam belt, ignition module ant alternator.

I am at a loss as to way it should just cut out. (it happens at any time or any speed)

Hi Check for a relay 109 in the fuse box

Silly question were do i find it?

And what do i do?
