Thanks for the reply I just want a knowledgable garage that is cheaper than a VW dealer, who wont rip me off and will use the recommended oil for TDI PD and also stamp the service book. Service is due in about 200 miles

Hi,

I am from Coventry, but I use a garage in Brackley Northamptonshire. Its well worth travelling, I used them for my TT and now my A3. You will find some indy's use pattern parts and cheap oil on services etc so they will appear to be dirt cheap. This garage only use genuine parts and recommended oil from VAG.

www.autops.co.uk (http://www.autops.co.uk) (APS) - They do a tech check for £20.00 + Vat, Listers Audi wanted £105.00 + Vat so the savings are huge. There is not much that they do not know about and are well known on the TT Forum site.

Hope this helps

Hi

I know of a VW licensed technician who's just opened up his own garage in Rugby, Warwickshire: Vasstech Auto Services (http://www.vasstechautoservices.co.uk) (I'm not sure if he can still call himself "licensed" since he's left a VW dealership and started up on his own - but he's trained and experienced to that level, working on top-of-the-range cars like the Touareg, Phaeton, V6 Passat, 4 Motion etc)

I've been taking my Audi A4 2.5TDI V6 Quattro to him for years, as well as my wife's Lupo.

http://www.vasstechautoservices.co.uk/ (http://www.vasstechautoservices.co.uk/)

The guy loves his job and by all accounts has lived and breathed VW/Audi since he was kid. He always uses genuine parts and is exact in his approach and methodical. He also ensures he keeps up to date with the latest VW training.

do these specialist garages for vw/audi compress springs?

if not, where would be the best place to get my springs compressed?

i currently have coilover springs which are too bouncy and does not give a

smooth drive? any suggestions.....thanks

Hi

I asked about your springs when I took my Audi into VASSTech Auto Services but the owner said he'll only supply new springs. He believes that altering springs can be dangerous as it sometimes weakens the mechanical properties of the part, resulting in failure.
