Hi folks!

Another FNG here:D

I am looking very seriously at part-exing my Touran Tdi for a Bora 130 tdi SE Tiptronic, tomorrow, from a dealer.

It's a 53 plate with 35K and FSh but what worries me is the Tiptronic gearbox.

A few questions:

1. Anyone driven one?

2. Anyone own one?

3. Anyone know how much it would be to fix if it went Pete-Tong?

Thanks folks. all help appreciated.

1. Anyone driven one?nope, sorry

2. Anyone own one? :p sorry again!

3. Anyone know how much it would be to fix if it went Pete-Tong? erm, how long is a piece of string? tbh, the chances of it failing are quite slim, as you will know, vw are bullet proof (ish) reliability as far as gearboxes and engines aren't really an issue. you could do with researching the service history and the past owners, it would be brilliant if it was an ex company car, end of the day, its only53 plate and its only done 35k, make sure you get a proper warranty.

Thanks folks. all help appreciated.

no doubt, teutonic tamer will be along soon to offer his techincal explanation of the tiptronic and what the chances/likely causes of a failure are
